There is a reasonably priced, modern swimming pool and fitness center in southern Osaka prefecture (Habikino City) called Clean Pier 21 Fitness Center. It is located next to a large waste recycling center (garbage burning center). Apparently the energy used to burn the garbage is is also used to heat the fitness facility and its pools.
The pool area consists of a swimming pool, a walking pool, a wading pool for children, a jacuzzi, and a sauna. The pool can be used on a per time basis, 600 yen for adults.
The fitness center consists of standard weight lifting equipment. One must pay a monthly fee of 6,500 yen plus a reasonable registration fee in order to use the fitness center. Pool use is included with this fee.
The building is bright and modern. The pool atrium is impressive, with one of its walls made almost completely of transparent glass, allowing the daylight to pour in, and giving one a feeling that they are swimming outdoors.
Clean Pier 21 is located nearest to Kintetsu Komagatani station, and is fairly near Kintetsu Furuichi and Kintetsu Fujidera stations on the Kintetsu Minami Osaka line leaving from Tennoji. For more information, call 0729 75 2588 in Japanese; fax 2560.
