Kansai International Airport (KIX)
Busses
Forget taking a taxi. Unless you don't care about money. Taxis into the city will run around 10,000 yen or so. Take a bus. A little crowded, especially in the early evening after the planes from North America land, but the best way to travel from KIX. Prices are shown below. Busses run about every half hour or so. As you leave customs at the airport, walk directly outside, and find the girl standing in front of some ticket machines. Her English won't be very good, but talk slowly and she'll be able to get you where you want to go. If it's your first time to Kansai, the bus is a good way to get a birds-eye view of the area. It mostly travels on the elevated expressways. Sure you might have to wait a little while for the bus to come, but it's a good time for your to let your stomach settle a bit, go to the bathroom, get some fresh air, exchange your money or whatever. From Kansai International Airport to:
Trains
Trains are the second best bet. The bad thing is they get crowded at peak times. So there you are with your 3 pieces of luggage and you and your wife pile into the train. At first it seems fine, but as you near Namba, the train is getting full, and everyone is being very polite about not stepping on your luggage. Still you kind of feel like your in the way. Actually, you kind of are. One solution is to take the Nankai Rapi:t service which is dedicated to airport travelers and goes to Namba, but it's overpriced. If your going to Namba, take the bus to OCAT instead. It usually only has 8 people on it.
